Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Kindred collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep things simple: collect only what we need, never sell your data, and give you control.
Information we collect
- Account details (name, email, password hash) when you sign up.
- Profile information you provide (age, location, interests, values, photos, bio).
- Identity verification documents when you opt into verification.
- Activity data: communities you join, events you attend, introductions you receive.
- Device data: IP address, browser, and basic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use it
- To create your account and operate the platform.
- To generate compatibility-based introductions.
- To enforce safety, including reviewing reports and detecting abuse.
- To improve Kindred and communicate with you about the service.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not show your verification documents to other members.
- We do not share your private messages with advertisers.
Sharing
We share data only with vetted service providers that help us operate the platform (hosting, authentication, email, identity verification). They are bound by contract to protect it. We may disclose data when legally required or to protect the safety of our members.
Your choices
- Edit your profile any time from Profile & Settings.
- Request data export or deletion by contacting us.
- Manage email preferences from your account settings.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
Retention
We keep account and activity data while your account is active. Verification documents are retained only as long as needed for trust-and-safety purposes. When you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.
Children
Kindred is for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
